I'm Rafaela Lambrou, a Melbourne-based artist and the creator behind Art by Rafaela. I was born in Australia but grew up on the Island of Lesvos, Greece, where my love of the sea and nature began.  

From a young age, I always loved sketching and painting. During Covid I started creating with resin, which led me further into painting and experimenting with different styles. I'm self-taught in both abstract and resin art, and over time I've continued to learn, experiment and develop my own style. 

I now create contemporary abstract and coastal-inspired pieces, working with colour, texture and movement. I love letting each artwork take its own direction rather than planning every detail.  

Art has become a form of therapy for me - a way to slow down, switch off and simply create. 

As a wife and mum, life outside the studio is just as important to me. I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, gardening and going to the gym. The beach is my favourite place to slow down and reset, and nature continues to inspire many of the colours, textures and movement you see in my work. 

Each artwork is created individually, and I love knowing that one day it may become part of someone else's home and story.  

My work has been featured, and continues to be exhibited, at Gallery Unbound, which has been a special part of my journey as an artist.
